At Reference Sounds, we've turned our love for sound into our work. With that "you're there" feeling as our personal flux-capacitor, we strive for a musical experience that brings us ever closer to reality. Like Doc, we walk the path toward the future with an open mind and an open ear. And on that journey, we sometimes encounter things that even slightly confuse us. Products that unexpectedly make such an impression and offer so much added value that we believe every music enthusiast should hear them. That's exactly what happened when we experienced Telos Audio Design. A pioneer in the field of mains filtering and grounding, with one simple goal: to protect the connected electronics from pollution from the mains and ground path so they can fully focus on the music signal. The result? Fabulous! As if the system suddenly has the freedom to reach its full potential. Long story short: We're proud to introduce you to a wonderful addition to our product range: Telos Audio Design.

Making it swing
The triangle between sound, technology, and emotion is simply fascinating and not always easy to explain. But when something is right, you feel it immediately. Our first encounter with Telos, for example, wasn't about Telos at all, but about a listening session with the compact Pendulum Integrated Amp at one of our Dan D'Agostino Dealers. Connected in the beautiful listening room, it felt as if we'd accidentally paired the large Momentum MxV to the speaker. The layered sound, the fluidity of the dynamic range, the extreme holography and speakerlessness, and above all, the tone and energy in the bass – bizarrely real! The Pendulum turned out to be connected to a temporary visitor, the Telos Audio Design Tai Chi Power Station. Admittedly, this is one of the most powerful models in the Telos family, but the addition of this filter, combined with grounding, lifted the sound of this system to breathtaking realism. We had to know more. Back to the future. Today, as I write this introduction, our investment order is on its way from Telos headquarters in Taiwan to Almere, with the goal of allowing more systems to benefit from these fantastic products. Starting with the Benelux launch at the Dutch Audio Event in Veldhoven!
Shaping the noise
Shaping the noise
Telos Audio Design is the brainchild of Jeff Lin, founded in Taipei in 2006 with the conviction that power supply and grounding interference hampers an audio system's musical potential. This makes sense, as we all listen to a modulated power supply signal; source, preamplifier, and power amplifier – all interconnected building blocks that rebuild the signal from the power supply. Therefore, power line interference from the mains can, to a greater or lesser extent, seep into the audio signal. The interconnection of audio products via signal ground and ground creates a second source of interference from potential differences and noise. Telos Audio Design uniquely addresses this interference with active mains filtering and ground noise reduction systems.

Telos Audio Systems Foundation Series – Power Core
Foundation Series
Telos Audio Design's product range spans from the extreme Monster Series, which were used with great enthusiasm by numerous ultra-high-end brands at the recent High End Munich shows, to the compact Macro Series with dedicated noise isolation products. The Monster models represent the pinnacle of Telos and are the ideal partners for brands like our Dan D'Agostino, Wadax, Audio Research, and Mark Levinson models. In Munich, however, Telos Audio Design also introduced a completely new series that sits comfortably below the Monster series while retaining many of its qualities: the Foundation Series Ground Core and Foundation Power Core. Active grounding and mains filtering housed in a beautifully styled enclosure that, after a thorough warm-up, can be lifted by one person.

It's going too far to say we can predict the future, but we dare say that this Foundation Series will send a small shockwave through the audio landscape. Or rather, will dissipate it. Because even if the musical gains from the Foundation models are only a fraction of what happens with the Monster models, we can promise an extreme upgrade in realism and emotional engagement.
The Telos Audio Design Foundation Series will be introduced at the Dutch Audio Event in Veldhoven. Naturally, we will introduce these and the other Telos models individually in future news items. Stay tuned!
