Hey Mister DJ – put the Stage XD’s on!

I won’t just speak for myself when I say that DJ aspirations played an important role in my youthful hi-fi hobby. The truth is that I didn’t give a shit about it, but I especially enjoyed working with sound and all those buttons. “And now we go on to the next record…” Unfortunately it was limited to the camping bingo complete with sour-smelling polonaise.
Still, it’s still great fun to do and we also see many teenagers (and their adult variants) like to grab the mixing table. We also see this question returning more and more often in requests from our CI partners and dealers in which we like to think along – a set of speakers for the basement where son and / or daughter can go wild. Well, we like to leave the extreme throwing and throwing work to our Pro partners, but if a good, full sound is desired without going extremely expensive, we do have a great tip: The JBL Stage XD-6 accompanied by one or several JBL SUB80P subwoofers.

Suppose we have to provide a room with a solid sound, then coverage and uniform low reproduction is the big challenge. The combination of the Stage XDs with SUB80P form a super duo here. The JBL Stage JBL Stage XD-6 is a surface-mounted speaker in white or black that, thanks to its IP67 classification, can be used in almost any environment, including outdoors, in wind and weather. However, thanks to its energetic sound character and simple wall mounting, we also like to place them indoors. High on the wall, just below the ceiling, it feels fantastic and for € 749,- the set you get a great speaker set in your home (or outside). Then we take two compact JBL SUB80P active subwoofers that we place in two opposite corners, four SUB80Ps – one for each corner – is even better. With a retail price of € 649,- each, you can deposit a solid bass foundation with a nice body. By placing several small subs in the different corners of the room, we spread that foundation much more evenly over the room. Simply because we effectively tame the evil standing wave.

Not a fairy tale, but a golden asset is the included transmitter that sends the music signal wirelessly to the subwoofers. The SUB80P has a built-in receiver that picks up the signal wirelessly. You simply place the transmitter on the sub or pre-out of the amplifier and the SUB80P booms the bass into the room via the 8” woofer placed at the bottom. All it needs is an electrical outlet. It is nice that several subs can be linked to one transmitter. Cool idea, right?

But the proof of the pudding is in the eating, so we had our interior builder make four 230cm high columns that serve as a tripod for the JBL Stage XD-6 – purely to simulate a position on the wall without making holes in our walls. need to drill. Four active JBL SUB80P subwoofers linked to one wireless transmitter each find a place under the corner stands with JBL Stage XD-6 and flames. A total price tag of € 4.049,- for speakers (based on 4 subs) translates into a room-filling sound that makes us look for the Dance bangers of yesteryear with a broad smile. Because the Stage XDs have been developed to let you dance our rainy summers, they can also be used outside with their IP67 rating. In all honesty, the JBL SUB80P doesn’t last as long and will really sound a bit soggy after a heavy shower – so keep it inside. However, we are also happy to think along with you for a subwoofer outside!

Curious? The set is playing here so you are most welcome. Moreover, the combi is also mobile and can therefore even be demonstrated on location. If you receive a request for a solid piece of sound where good sound is desired – consider this solution of the JBL Stage XD-6 plus one or more JBL SUB80P active subs. It is worth it!
